Matthew 5:1-11

Today is the first day in our one month Bible Study series. I hope you're ready!!!!

Don't forget, the first person to find the hidden link and comment on it, wins a cool prize.

This is a cool passage of scripture. Mainly because it turns the world upside down. Blessed are the poor? Those who mourn? The week? This isn't what we're used to. We think that the rich and powerful are the blessed of God. So what is Jesus saying here?

Jesus is letting people know that God doesn't judge us by earthly standards. He isn't impressed by how big our houses are, he created the world. He isn't impressed by what brand of clothes you wear. He designed your skin, which is way cooler than Abercrombie. He isn't impressed with how cool you look to other people, he knows everything about you, even the bad stuff that you don't tell anyone else.

He is happy with us when our hearts are set on Him. When we don't think highly of ourselves. He wants us to want to be righteous. He wants us to want Him. He wants us to stick up for other people and take care of people who need help. He looks at the heart.

So if God looks at the heart, shouldn't you?
