Matthew 11:13-16

Congrats to Ivey who found the heart yeasterday.

Today we're talking about salt. And light. I hope you read today's passage, it's good, but it can also be kind of confusing. Why does Jesus say we are supposed to be the Salt of tf the earth and the light of the world?

Have you ever eaten mashed potatoes? If you're like me, you don't like them unless they have plenty of salt. Salt adds flavor. We as Christians are supposed to add flavor and excitement to the world around us. We are supposed to have fun and help other people feel happy and satisfied by pointing them to Christ who gives us our joy.

That's where the light comes in. People who don't know Jesus are like people walking around in the dark. They can't see anything without a light. Our lives and our words are supposed to be the light for our friends to see Jesus. So today, ask God to help you be the salt of the earth and the light of the world right in your school, family and here in Macon.
